Prompt, friendly and business like, Thomas checked out, assessed and estimated for repair of a dangerous broken step at the bottom of our common stairwell. Ahead of schedule and, at short notice, he resolved our problem to everyone’s satisfaction. TJF Stonemasonry is local to the Canongate and we would be more than happy to avail ourselves of their splendid services again. Highly recommended.

I have experience of T J Ferris Stonemasonry’s work both in repair and new stone build. The quality of their workmanship is excellent. They have built a new stone wall for me personally and we are very pleased with it. They have also repaired our Georgian garden wall. TJ Ferris Stonemasonry have undertaken repair work, at a competitive cost, on the Category A listed ancient monument of Coldingham Priory – treating 13th century stonework to reduce porosity and repairing Victorian weathered sandstone.

Thomas and his team carried out major repairs to the external stonework of our church building. The were knowledgeable and skilled and worked very efficiently. They were also clean, tidy and considerate.

Thomas and his team repaired, repointed and replaced the landing of our colony external stairs. As the render was removed from the step walls it became clear the steps were in greater disrepair than we thought. Thomas was quick to make the steps safe and clearly explained the additional works needed.

He also repaired some weathered stone work and removed old cement repairs repointing with the correct mortar.

Thomas and his team were polite and friendly and tidy.

I was made aware of T J Ferris Stonemasonry when I saw their work at Ayton Castle. I commissioned them to build a concave wall in my garden, which was completed within time and budget. Subsequently he has gone on to work on the Grade A listed walls on our estate. We would now use T J Ferris Stonemasonry as our first choice.

Very happy with the work done by Thomas and his team. The work involved some plastic repairs (lithomex) to my tenement wall to fix an area of stone that had delaminated and crumbled away. It was quite an awkward spot to get to as the access scaffold had to be built on another flat roof and the repair itself was high level, just below the gutter line, but they done a great job and got it sorted despite some very windy weather. I would recommend to friends and call on them again if the need arises.
