During the purchase of this mid century bungalow the buyer had concerns about the reliability of the structural survey carried out on the property. Following a second survey after purchase which did discover serious instability in many of the structural members in the roof a settlement was paid to the buyer. This settlement was the used to rectify the buildings defects and to extend upwards adding an additional floor.

We were contracted to undertake a complete overhaul of the building removing the entire roof, carrying out underpinning, replacing the inadequate structural members, replacing the wall plate with a steel beam to take the load of an additional floor.

A complicated project due to the structural additions required within the building and the necessity to maintain the property in a habitable condition throughout the work.
