Hill End Farmhouse

Mid-19th century farmhouse near Reston in the Scottish Borders. Inappropriate cement pointing causing damp in the façade. Issue resolved by replacing cement with expertly applied lime mortar keeping the elements out while allowing the building to breath and dry.

Newley applied cement pointing had to be painstakingly removed without destroying the weakened stonework of the building.
