Corstorphine, Edinburgh

Corstorphine is a charming residential part of Edinburgh located to the west of the city center. Notable buildings of interest for any stone mason are Corstorphine doocot, built in the 16th century to serve Corstorphine Castle, which has since been demolished and the Old Parish Church.

Working on a variety of domestic properties across Edinburgh often involves some repointing using lime mortar and occasionally the repair of concrete elements in this instance a windowsill. While undertaking this work we were asked to improve the drive entrance and the stairs to the front door.
